Oh I love this post! Gosh, that photo must be from autumn 2019! Sigh, seems so long ago. It looks like I was on my way to give those peach trees to Toby to plant; alas, they didn't make it through that winter. But we're trying again.

Such a shame about the peach trees. The weather has just been so mercurial. I am hesitant to try fruit trees; the front patch is pretty open to the wind coming in over the cemetery. However apples are still under consideration.
And peonies! I have the sunny spots for more peonies, thank you very much.
I think apple trees might do well there! They may need winter protection the first year. Best time to plant is early spring but I have planted them in summer at Brushwood. I am eager to see my micro orchard I planted behind my trailer (in honor of Frank Barney). Before the pandemic, I covered the trees with burlap to protect them from deer. But I don't know how they have fared in the last year.
