Hello, my friend! Yes, it was hot here in southern New Hampshire, too. I will have to get out the hose and do some deep watering this evening. Let me see what I have out there in the garden today…
Oh, lookee! A deep purple iris popped open today. Do you know the name of this one? I wish I had your memory when it comes to plant names!
Oh, and we started to build a stone wall around the garden. By ‘we’, of course, I mainly mean our mutual friend, Len, who did all of the heavy lifting. He’s such a good sport. And at the end of the project, there was lasagna waiting in the oven.
Can’t wait to see what’s new in your garden…
love,
Wren
OOOH love the stone wall! Good job, Len! Everything looks great! I have some of those purple ones, too with the bright gold beards; they're lovely! I don't know the name but it's a fairly old heirloom variety. I planted some in a guerrilla garden spot near the community vegetable garden which has since gotten a bit trashed but the irises are still there; today when I went to water them two of these had been snipped! Hopefully the ones next to the community garden itself will remain intact long enough for me to get pics! There's about eight varieties planted!
